DNA Test offers you the definitive artistic and personal statement in modern art with DNA Art Effect. We produce a modern piece of art based on your genetic code with your very own DNA.
What is DNA?
DNA stands for deoxyribonucleic acid. You can see why everyone just calls it DNA! DNA is the fundamental building block for an individual’s entire genetic makeup. Encoded into your DNA is information about your race, your gender, and even your parents! DNA also controls characteristics such as eye colour. How much DNA influences very complex features, such as intelligence, is not yet fully understood.
The image on your DNA is attained by producing a DNA profile. A DNA profile, is like a fingerprint, unique to you. DNA fragments are tagged with fluorescent dyes and photographed. The result is a series of bands and highlights make a very unique piece of modern art.
DNA Effect has suits your style. The result is a stunning piece of innovative modern art that is accurately you. The colour graded bands and highlights of a DNA profile produces a unique pattern ideal for modern interior design schemes. There’s a range of colours and designs to choose from so your DNA profile is sure to harmonise your home or work place.

A DNA paternity test of related potential fathers is not as unusual as you would think. Positive DNA test is acknowledged as a conclusive result for paternity in most cases due the statistical impossibility of potential fathers having the same DNA profiles. The matter of paternity becomes complicated if the possible fathers are related i.e. father or son,
brothers, cousins etc.
Paternity DNA tests on related alleged fathers is not unlike a normal paternity test. The analysis of the samples is what poses possible problems. First cousins share ⅛ of their DNA hence it becomes more difficult to prove parentage. DNA increases to ¼ for uncles, nephews and half-brothers, and increases to ½ for sons, fathers and brothers of the person being tested.
I recommend our Super Test which tests 23 regions and increases the accuracy of our easy test. If at all possible please inform us prior to testing of the possibility of the alleged fathers being related.
Matters like these are not easy to deal with, I strongly recommend our clients contact us so we can determine the most accurate test to determine paternity.

Paternity Prenatal Testing
Clients who wish to determine paternity during pregnancy may opt for a Prenatal Paternity test, similar to normal DNA paternity test, the prenatal test analyses the baby’s DNA with that of the alleged father.
The baby’s DNA is established at conception; a prenatal test gives the same conclusive results as a normal paternity test.
I must make it clear that a prenatal sample collection is done at the discretion of the gynecologist. This is done because prenatal sample collection poses significant risk to both mother and baby. I recommend counseling with a medical doctor prior to prenatal test consideration.
To obtain samples from the unborn child, the gynecologist uses either two procedures depending on the stage of pregnancy.
Chorionic Villi Sampling(CVS) 10th through 13th week. Cells from the placenta, a membrane surrounding the developing fetus guided by ultra-sound, gynecologist uses a catheter through the vagina or a long, hollow, needle through the abdomen to collect cells.
Amniocentesis(Amnio) 14th through 24th week. Loose fetal cells released into amniotic fluid surrounding the developing fetus. Guided by ultra sound, the gynecologist uses a long needle through the abdomen to collect amniotic fluid.
DNA Test will contact gynecologist and advise collection procedure. On the date of the procedure, a buccal swab sample is required from the alleged father; this will be the sample against which analysis is done. DNA Test arranges for the collection of the samples directly from gynecologist offices. The cost of the analysis excludes gynecologist fees but includes analysis and reporting costs. Results are normally available within 10-15 working days.

Growing up my elder and younger brothers’ used to gang up against me and assert that I was not their brother cause I grew up a lot fairer than them. But now in our adulthood there is not mistaking our siblingship. We are all not so fortunate.
We all have either read and or heard of the horror stories, of children being kidnapped or separated from their families. The separated individuals more often than not grow up with a sense of not belonging. And this is where the search for their biological family begins.
The task of finding biological siblings lost to separations and kidnapping is never easy. There exists documented searches of up to 5 decades.
A sense of belonging for us humans is critically important. Hence the joys of finding a sibling is possibly without doubt one of the most fulfilling accomplishments. But there is an unsettling comfort that comes with this joy. A question of doubt. The reunited might look like each other, but are they truly related?
A DNA test is the only way to prove or disprove siblingship. A siblingship test compares to individuals to be either full siblings, share the same mother and father or half siblings whom share the same mother or father.
Whilst DNA Test will prefer having the parents sample for analysis of samples, sample submission by parents are not necessary for a siblingship test.
A siblingship test is also ideal to prove parentage when a parent is unavailable for testing.

Cross Country Paternity Tests
We at DNA Test and DNA Solutions understand the sensitivity and in most cases the confidentiality that is required when you are faced with requiring a paternity test. You are faced with more questions than answers. In term of the logistics all 3 parties, alleged father, mother and child needed to be present at a pathology clinic for a nurse to extract a blood sample.
Coupled with that torment I have often had clients go through great expense to have the question of paternity answered. At times not only travelling across a country, but travelling across continents.
At DNA Test and DNA Solutions this is no longer necessary. Neither parties need to be at the same place when conducting a paternity or any of our other relationship tests.
Simply order or purchase our home sample collection kit, and we will assist in sending the kit to the individuals concerned, be they across town, across the country or even across continents. Once you receive your kit
collect your samples in the privacy of your home and send to your country’s relevant DNA Solutions office. We have 43 offices worldwide all of whom will be able to assist you in your native language. A single payment can also be made in the currency that suits you.

For most South African our national telephone operator is a constant nuisance, we at DNA Test are no exception to this nuisance. And late last week I had to have all our business lines diverted to my cell phone cause of an exchange problem, I normally tend to this so as not to miss any calls from our clients.
A client called in on my cell wanting his results… I normally do not speak with clients at this stage of the process, however I was sitting at my desk and was in a position to access his results. The somewhat nervous sounding client gave me his details, username and password. I confirmed his name and that of the child we tested against and gave him the news that probably which would be the most celebrated news he would ever hear… the paternity analysis we had done on his behalf was a positive result, a biological match between him and his new found son.
I had not know the history of this case and at the time assumed that the son we had tested was an infant, so I was absolutely taken a back when the client with a lump in his throat and probably tears in his eyes worded, “that’s all I wanted to hear, he is my son.” “you have made me and a lot of people very happy today.”
Unexpectedly I was drawn into this clients euphoria, he continued to give me a brief history of how he had lost contact with his new found sons’ mother 16 years ago. The boys mum had moved to the UK and the client had moved to the Eastern Cape, he resumed (with the jubilation in his voice) of how over the past 16 years how each of them had been futile in making contact until just only a few weeks ago, when the boy and his mum moved back to South Africa. Gratified, he continued on how he wanted a DNA test to affirm the paternity of his new found son.
Needless to say at this point I been beguiled, had a transfer of sorts, and words escaped me. I lead the client to ending the call, wanting him to immediately share the news with his newly re-affirmed family. I was elated when the call ended, put my hands on my head and reflected.
I have since spoken with the client and the boys mother who has given me a substantial narrative. But thats not for me to share.
In a way the inefficiency of our telecoms operator gave me an opportunity to change the lives forever of a united family.

Can you cheat at a Paternity Test?
I received a quiet distressing call from client yesterday. She was adamant that the father tested is the father of her child. She understood the implications of not being present when the father had collected the samples and that he could have submitted samples other than his. This leads me to this blog.
Can you cheat a paternity test?
The answer is simple, Yes you can, but you will get caught!
DNA Paternity Testing is the most accepted method of confirming a biological relationship between an alleged father and biological child. There are two types of tests you can perform. The legal or court admissible test where the collection of the samples is performed with a controlled chain-of-custody procedure with usually a doctor or registered nurse to act as a witness and verify the authenticity of the samples. Then there is the Home DNA test whereby the client purchases a DNA testing kit and is responsible for collecting their own samples. The home test is commonly known as Peace of Mind Testing.
The legal test of course provides an almost cheat proof system. Samples are taken in the presence of a registered nurse or doctor and is accompanied by legally binding documents.
However for the home DNA test, as the individuals are responsible for collecting their own samples, this gives opportunity to cheat on the test. This can be done by submitting someone else’s sample which will without doubt lead to a negative result.
We cannot know if the samples provided are of the correct person (s). In fact, it is quite normal for a DNA test result to clearly state that the samples have not been verified and hence the report cannot be used in a court of law.
Only in cases where the samples submitted are of the wrong sex will our laboratory question the samples. The Amelogenin gene, a standard part of a DNA paternity test will confirm the sex of the samples. Also submitting the sample of an animal, example swabbing a dog will also be picked up by the laboratory as it will not be possible to conclude the test.
Once the samples are processed, our laboratory is in a position to issue a DNA profile that is unique to each individual. Whilst the result will of course be erroneous, however should a correct sample be obtained the new profile can be easily matched to the old profile to confirm if they belong to the same individual.
If you are suspicious that an individual might cheat on the test you have the following options:
1. Perform the swabbing procedure in the presence of all parties and make sure to seal and send yourself the samples to the laboratory.
2. If it is not possible to be present at the same time or location have the samples taken in front of a neutral third party who will act as an independent witness to the collection.
3. Conduct a legal test
Clients do not normally cheat. Most clients want to find out the truth. However, in cases where there has been an attempt to cheat, the negative result were always challenged by the mother who will obtain the correct sample for re-testing.
Mothers can also want to cheat at a paternity test. Mothers who know that it is likely that the man being tested is NOT the biological father will try to contaminate the child’s swab with there own DNA, as they think this will provide a negative result without the laboratory noticing. Our laboratory will pick up this contamination, re-testing will be required.
The truth more often than not does surface. Our process maybe easy, and yes there are clients who believe they can cheat the system. But it really is not that easy.

Who is the daddy?
DNA test results show that 33% of men are not child’s real father. That is 1 in every 3.
One in THREE mums who want to know “who’s the daddy” are finding out it is not the man they thought it was. Our statistics show that nearly 35 per cent of fathers tested are NOT the biological parent – and they have been raising another man’s child.
As the results of DNA tests can have a profound impact on individuals, their partners, and their families, it is extremely important to know the accurate result of DNA test.
